Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has set out to guarantee privacy and enhance secure messaging in one of the biggest digital marketplaces in the world. The software giant has partnered with Indian telecommunication firm Tanla Platforms and leveraged blockchain-technology to develop an edge-to-edge encrypted platform.
Secure Wisely Platform
Wisely is the resultant platform that seeks to enhance digital commerce by ensuring secure messaging between enterprises and suppliers. The edge-to-edge global blockchain network is designed to enable the sending of encrypted SMSes directly from enterprises to Telco-operators.
The blockchain-powered platform is built on Microsoft Azure for secure communication across SMS, email, and chat messages. It is designed to offer private, secure, and trusted communication experiences. Blockchain technology integration should bring about complete data visibility, thus acting as a source of trust among all stakeholders in the ecosystem.
According to Tanla Chief Executive Officer Uday Reddy, Wisely has what it takes to become a game-changer in the highly competitive messaging sector where consumers are always spoilt of choice. However, when privacy is a big consideration, wisely has the potential to carve a niche for itself.
The edge-to-edge encryption platform should excite people and businesses that cherish privacy in communication and seek to enjoy secure messaging. “Data security and privacy is an important component, and Wisely leverages the flexibility and reliability of Microsoft Azure to provide another great business communication option for our enterprise customers,” said Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President Omar Abbosh.
Enhancing Digital Commerce
In addition to enhancing privacy and secure messaging, Wisely is also built with an eye to enhance digital commerce. With the blockchain-powered platform, enterprises will be able to collaborate with suppliers with ease while leveraging one of the most secure communication networks.
At a time when privacy is a hot subject, Wisely leverages end-to-end encryption, thus ensuring customers' data is always protected. It does so by encrypting data between enterprises and telecommunication providers.
The platform makes it possible to have both enterprises and suppliers on a single trusted ecosystem where they can transact business. In this case, enterprises will add their own suppliers to the network or choose from an expansive list of available channels.
Easy onboarding of existing suppliers and contracts should make it easy for enterprises to expand globally through new partnerships. Likewise, the platform-as-a-service leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning to help enterprises enhance service delivery in digital commerce and also reduce operational costs.
Wisely's unveiling comes when the world is embroiled in a fierce debate over privacy policies. WhatsApp is the latest app to come under scrutiny after changing its privacy policies, a move that has outraged many people.
Amid the scrutiny, Wisely might as well have a chance to gain some market share as people rush to platforms that can ensure end-to-end encryption on commercial mobile SMSes, emails, among other types of communication. In addition to enhancing digital commerce, Wisely is targeted at mobile carriers and over the top content providers.
