Genius Brands International Inc. (NASDAQ:GNUS) markets sentiments have received a boost in the wake of the children's media company inking a strategic partnership with LG Electronics. A confirmation that the company will be participating at the 13th Annual LD Micro investor’s conference has also affirmed the company’s push to get its ad-supported platform in front of more eyeballs.
The stock rallying by more than 4% in recent days does not come as a surprise. In recent weeks, the stock has been under pressure in the wake of revenues tumbling by more than 90%. The company’s core business taking a significant hit in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic could also explain why it is trading near record lows.
LG- Samsung Deals
However, a confirmation of a strategic partnership with LG Electronics is seen as a big deal that could help reinvigorate Genius Brands' revenue-generating prospects. Under the terms of the agreement, the children's media company is to offer its advertiser backed Kartoon Channel on LG Smart TVs. The deal comes just days after the company inked a similar deal with Samsung.
Deals with Samsung and LG Electronics should get Kartoon Channel in front of more viewers. In return, the company remains well-positioned to attract more advertisers looking to target a wider target audience. Chief Executive Officer Jon Ollwerther has already confirmed he expects the deals to position Kartoon Channel at the forefront of the evolving market.
Ad Revenues Push
As Genius Brands attracts more advertisers to Kartoon Channel, it should be able to reverse the trend of declining revenues. Strengthening revenue streams is top of the agenda as the company looks to bounce back to profitability.
A confirmation that Genius Brands will participate at the 13th Annual LD Micro investor conference is also seen as a step in the right direction in getting Kartoon Channel out to a much broader audience. Getting the ad-supported network to more eyeballs should go a long way in attracting more advertisers to the network, crucial to strengthening the ad business.
